We are providing an opportunity for preschool aged children to have a free hearing check on Saturday 20 April 2024 at Hampton Primary School.

If your child is aged 3.5 to 6 years and enrolled at a kindergarten or childcare centre in Bayside, you can book a 20-minute free hearing check including a large motor skills assessment to support their preparation for transitioning to primary school.

Hearing checks will be conducted by a Master of Clinical Audiology student from Melbourne University, under the supervision of a qualified audiologist.

Piloted in 2015, the hearing screening program is a joint initiative between Bayside City Council, Hampton Rotary, and the University of Melbourne. The program was piloted in Bayside and has now been rolled out in several other municipalities.

It is important to identify hearing issues early on, as these have the potential to impact both short and long-term speech and language development.

Attendance is by appointment only.
