About the event

Join us for an educational cooking experience that will focus on innovative yet simple ways to reduce household food waste, optimal food storage techniques & how to use up leftovers & cook with the whole vegetable!

The workshop includes:

- Discussions & activities about food waste, food storage & using up leftovers
- Tastings of zero waste recipe: Veggie Scrap Fritters
- Recipes & resources to help further your knowledge of food waste reduction at home

Please BYO a clean small/medium jar with your choice of sliced seasonal vegetables. We will pour the pickling brine in to give you a take-home treat

Bookings essential. Tickets are free but spaces are limited; please register to book your spot!

Open Table shares free food with those in need in neighbourhoods across Melbourne. We use surplus food that would otherwise be thrown away and turn it into nutritious meals to share with the community, in order to reduce food insecurity and food waste.
