Mandatory height controls for three major activity centres (C113, C114 and C115)

Amendments C113–C115 seek to change the 'preferred' (discretionary) height controls with mandatory height controls in the shopping precincts of Sandringham Village, Bay Street and Church Street. Council is also seeking to reduce the maximum height in Sandringham Village in the residential area known as Precinct E2.

An independent Planning Panel considered the submissions received and recommended that the amendments be abandoned. Council adopted Amendments C113–C115 at its 27 October 2015 Ordinary Meeting and subsequently requested the Minister for Planning approve the amendments so that they form part of the Bayside Planning Scheme.

What was the outcome?

The Minister for Planning refused amendments C113, C114 and C115.
