The workshops provide a productive, fun and safe environment for tooling up and enjoying skills and fostering new ones. A friendly haven to share ideas, solve problems, talk health, wellbeing and about life in a wonderful enriching environment.
Who can join?
Men’s Shed is a community of like-minded fathers, grandfathers and gentlemen who seek to use their skills and ideas for the betterment of the community.
Not all Men’s Sheds are the same – if you looked inside you might see a number of men making furniture, perhaps restoring bicycles for a local school. You might also see a few young men working with the older men obtaining new skills and learning something about life from the men with whom they work.
You will likely see tea-bags, coffee cups and a comfortable area where men can sit and talk. You will probably also see an area where men can learn to cook for themselves or how to contact their families online.
How can I get involved?
There is a Men’s Shed Trading Post Facebook page to strengthen the community between Men’s Shed’s providing the platform to buy, swap and sell.
Men can just come and have a yarn and a cuppa if that is all they’re looking for. Members of Men’s Sheds come from all walks of life – the bond that unites them is that they are men with time on their hands and would like something meaningful to do with that time. If this describes you or a friend of yours, please get in touch with your Bayside Men’s Shed, they would love to hear from you.
