New public toilet at Picnic Point foreshore

A new public toilet facility will be built to replace the existing foreshore facility that no longer meets the current standards required for public toilet facilities.

The new building will be accessible and will include safe, family friendly facilities for the community and visitors.

The location of the new building will provide a safer environment and create additional open space with views of the coastline and beach. Improvements adjacent to the new facility will include a new drinking fountain and native landscaping.

The new building has been designed to respond to the harsh coastal conditions, while using sustainable materials and creating interiors that are bright, airy and hygienic.

The existing She-oak trees will be retained and have been incorporated into the new design to provide shade and maintain the natural character of the area.

Construction

Works commenced in May and are expected to be completed mid-July 2017.
