Applications for the best job in Bayside are now open!
Gather around under 14 year olds, your local playgrounds need you, to be official Playground Testers.
Yes you heard right! Bayside is seeking 250 of the Bayside’s most fun loving youngsters for some serious swinging, sliding, turning, flipping and digging at six - soon to be upgraded - playgrounds.
Though Council’s $10 million 10 year plan to redevelop each of the city’s 61 playgrounds by 2025 – these Playground testers have some serious work to do.
“We really want to know what the experts think,” says Mayor Cr Alex del Porto “and that’s the serious side of all this fun”.
Armed with a sunhat, sunscreen, drink bottle and a lanyard containing a booklet for their feedback the pint-sized experts will visit each park and record the date, time and what they like and dislike about each location.
Testers will have one month to visit the playgrounds and return their books.
“I’ll be honest the pay is not great but the job satisfaction is through the roof,” says Cr del Porto.
“There’s not a better job in the world for young people,” says Cr del Porto “except maybe chocolate taster.
“Last year’s Playground Testers did a great job – and 19 of our 61 playgrounds were upgraded based on the feedback we receive from past testers,” he added.
No resumes are required but if you are interested, or know someone who may be, register now. https://bayside.formstack.com/forms/playground_testers
