Court approves community use of Dendy Street Beach pavilion

The Court of Appeals has given the green light to the use of Dendy Street Beach for a life saving club, café, and community meeting rooms.

The Court dismissed an appeal by the Brighton Foreshore Association against an earlier VCAT decision regarding the Dendy Street Beach Masterplan and pavilion.

We can now proceed with this exciting and important community life saving club project to revitalise the Dendy Street Beach precinct and complement the iconic and world renown bathing boxes.

The Dendy Street Beach Masterplan redevelopment will provide upgraded facilities for Brighton Life Saving Club, new public amenities for beachgoers, all abilities access to the beach, a community meeting room and small café with seating for 30 to 35 patrons inside and 20 to 25 patrons on an outdoor terrace.

Works  will commence in November.
