Donald MacDonald Reserve pavilion upgrade

We are building a new home for community sport in Beaumaris

Works on the $4m renewed pavilion at Donald MacDonald Reserve are anticipated to commence from 13 April 2021.

The design features new inclusive change rooms to help sporting clubs who use the park grow, upgraded community facilities and improved sustainability features.

Key elements will include:

  • Accessible and gender inclusive changerooms and umpire facilities
  • Public toilet.
  • A new community space and increased storage facilities.
  • Improved sustainability features including solar panels on the roof, water-heating systems, and electrical appliances to remove use of natural gas, water tanks and sensor lighting throughout the building.

While works are underway access will be unavailable to the carpark, playground, skate park, basketball half court and BBQ. This area will remain fenced until early 2022 when construction is expected to be completed.

Community members will still be able to use Donald MacDonald Reserve sportsground with pedestrian entry available via Stawell Street.
