Drainage upgrades in North Concourse Beaumaris

We’re undertaking kerb and channel works in North Concourse, Beaumaris to upgrade drainage in the area.

Works will begin on Monday 13 March and take approximately three weeks to complete, weather permitting.

Renewing the kerb and channel

Kerbs and channels form a barrier between the road pavement and nature strip/ footpath to funnel water into the drainage system and prevent water entering under the road surface. Upgrading the kerb and channel helps prevent drainage and tree uprooting issues that can damage roadways, nature strips and private property.

These works are part of Council’s annual program to maintain and improve road infrastructure assets.

We’re committed to the use of sustainable resources. Existing concrete that is removed will be recycled and reused as road base crushed rock for the new kerb and channel.

Works are scheduled to commence on 13 March and will take approximately three weeks to complete (weather permitting). Construction will occur between 7am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.
