Have your say on Council’s draft Procurement Policy

We have worked closely with other local Councils to develop a consistent policy for how we buy goods, services and capital works for Councils. This will help contractors because they will know what to expect when tendering for works in the southern region, as the process and standards will be the same or very similar.

A really important change in the draft policy is a strengthening or Council’s commitment to the Climate Emergency Action Plan. Whilst we have always had sustainable procurement practices, we are now proposing to lift these to a whole new level and improve our focus on positive environmental outcomes.

Read all of the proposed changes in our draft Procurement Policy and provide your feedback via our Have Your Say project page on our website. You can also submit questions to our Council Procurement Lead.

Consultation is open until 12 November 2021. Your feedback will be collated into a Community engagement summary report which is expected to be considered by Council at the Council meeting on 22 December 2021.

If you would like to receive email updates about the project, please hit the blue ‘subscribe’ button on our main project page.
