Heritage protection for mid-century marvels

Interim heritage protection has been granted to 19 mid-century modern properties in Beaumaris and Black Rock identified as places of local significance during Council’s voluntary nomination process.

The Heritage Overlay will be applied until 30 November 2021 while Council continues its preparation of the Mid Century Modern Heritage Study which is expected to see permanent controls applied to these sites.

The properties include eight private properties and 11 Council owned buildings.
