Opening up to fully vaccinated visitors

We’re so pleased to be reopening Council facilities following the easing of COVID-19 restrictions under the Victorian Government Roadmap.

From 6pm 29 October all visitors aged 16+ to Bayside City Council facilities must be fully vaccinated.

Victorian Government mandatory COVID-19 vaccination requirements will apply and Council will also introduce a new mandatory vaccination policy. The requirement for mandatory vaccination will apply for all visitors unless a medical exemption applies.

What's open when

Our Customer Service Counter at the Bayside Corporate Centre in Sandringham will reopen to fully vaccinated visitors 16+ on Wednesday 3 November.

Bayside Libraries and the Bayside Gallery will reopen on Friday 5 November and the Bayside Community Nursery on Saturday 6 November.

Council facilities used by community organisations will commence reopening to fully vaccinated visitors aged 16+ from 6pm Friday 29 October (adhering to relevant density and visitor restrictions). This includes Community Centres and Bayside Toy Library.

Bayside and Brighton Men’s Sheds will reopen on Monday 8 November and our Seniors Centres from Monday 15 November.

The Bayside Waste and Recycling Centre is open.

Maternal and Child Heath appointments and immunisation sessions remain available via appointment only. As these services are deemed essential under Victorian Government health orders, vaccinations are preferred, not mandatory, for visitors aged 16+ years.

Members of the public will not yet be able to return in person to Council meetings but you can continue to make submissions on agenda items, ask a question and watch meetings live via our website here

Mandatory vaccination

We are committed to protecting the health and safety of all visitors, employees, volunteers and contractors at Council facilities through our mandatory vaccination policy. The health and wellbeing of our community is our highest priority.

  • you have a valid medical exemption to COVID-19 vaccination issued by an authorised medical practitioner, or
  • you are aged under 16.

To see accepted evidence of your vaccination status, visit the Victorian Government Coronavirus website.

Please present your vaccination certification when entering a Council facility. Thanks for your understanding.

Unvaccinated residents can continue to access Council’s services via online, telephone or in certain circumstances, by appointment including:
