Through the development of the health and wellbeing plan, Council is focusing on improving access and inclusion for people living with a disability in Bayside.
We have developed the draft Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan 2021 -2025 (MPHWP) and want to ensure it connects with all ages and abilities. We need a wide range of experiences and ideas, particularly from people living with a disability or caring for someone with a disability - so please get involved and share this opportunity with your community.
We have developed this plan following an extensive consultation process speaking with community members across all ages and abilities to understand the biggest opportunities to improve health and wellbeing and what are the barriers that need to be overcome.
As part of this process, we also collaborated with our agency partners and our key committees including Bayside Healthy Ageing Reference Group and Bayside’s Disability Access and Inclusion Advisory Committee to understand how they can support us in delivering the key actions from the plan.
The first and main mission of the committee is to provide advice on the development of the MPHWP from the perspective of people with lived experience of disability. The committee has already been briefed on the draft plan and will now consider the feedback that comes through this engagement process. The next stage will involve implementing the actions as part of the Disability Action Plan.
The draft plan outlines four key goals and fourteen objectives for Council to prioritise over the next four years.
The draft Public Health and Wellbeing Plan will be open for feedback until 21 August. View the draft plan and submit feedback on the guiding goals, objectives, and actions on Have Your Say.
