Poetry Pouch will be back!
Bayside’s iconic Poetry Pouch has gone missing but rest assured another pouch will take its place very soon.
The pouch contains poetry written by locals and passers-by and is much loved by residents.
Until recently it was attached to a table on the Sandringham foreshore for many years.
Council’s graffiti contractor cut the chain attaching the pouch to the table in order to remove graffiti and repaint the furniture. The pouch was placed next to the table and has since been removed by unknown pouch-nappers.
Council staff have searched the area to no avail.
All is not lost however as a new version of the Poetry Pouch will be back situ very soon. We are reliably informed that Poetry Pouch 6.0 will be back on the foreshore in coming days and can continue to delight our community.
