Statement re Lloyd Group
On Friday 31 March 2023 we were notified that Council’s contractor on several of our infrastructure projects – Lloyd Group, placed themselves into voluntary administration.
Council has been actively working on the next steps of our projects under construction which are the Dendy Street Beach Pavilion and Tulip Street Basketball Stadium expansion.
Following a show cause notice process we have formally withdrawn works from our contract with Lloyd Group. This enabled us to proceed with a tender for a new head builder/s for the Dendy Street Beach Pavilion and the Tulip Street Basketball Expansion.
The tender process is continuing to move along swiftly and we anticipate the evaluation and resolution of these tenders by mid May.
We share the community’s disappointment regarding any delays in the delivery of these important facilities for our lifesavers, basketballers, and for the wider community. We are continuing to work towards completing these projects with as little disruption as possible.
