Stay safe from COVID-19

Monday, June 22, 2020

We are here to assist our community and will continue to support you through the COVID-19 pandemic, including providing assistance where needed, and to those in mandatory isolation.

If you are feeling concerned or need assistance, particularly if in mandatory isolation, please call us on 9599 4444 to speak with one of our COVID-19 Support Team.

The key things we can all do to keep well and stay safe are:

  • practice good hand hygiene
  • remain at least 1.5m apart
  • stay home if you are unwell.

If you have any symptoms, even if they are very mild, you can be tested. The closest testing stations are at Southland Shopping Centre, the Alfred and Monash Hospitals. You can also have a test with your GP. Find out more details here

Council will continue to work with, and follow directions from, the Victorian Government on COVID-19 restrictions including the postponement of further easing. The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is leading our response to the pandemic.

As a result of the increase in COVID-19 cases, from 22 June, the number of people you can have in your home has reduced to five visitors. Public gatherings in a public place are restricted to a maximum of 10 people.

Visitors to our community centres, libraries and other indoor facilities remain capped at a maximum of 20 people in any one space based on facility size and distancing requirements until 12 July.

We all have a role to play in stopping the spread. Stay safe Bayside.
