Notice of intention to enter into 1 Lease with Telstra Corporation Ltd

Bayside City Council (Council) gives notice under Section 190 and 223 of the Local Government Act 1989 (Act) of its intention to enter into a lease with Telstra Corporation Ltd for the occupation of one new telecommunications site, being part of the Brighton Golf Course, situated at Dendy Street, Brighton. The proposed lease is intended to provide for the construction and operation of one new Telstra telecommunications facility.

The proposed lease is for a term of 20 years (being made up of a cumulative total of 10 years with a further term of 10 years) at a commencement rental of $30,000 (plus GST) per annum, subject to annual increases of 3%. The permitted use of the premises is for the construction, maintenance and operation of a telecommunications network and telecommunications service.

Any person lodging a submission in relation to the proposed lease must do so before 5:00pm Friday 19 March 2021.

If a person wishes to be heard in support of their submission, they must clearly indicate so in their submission. This will entitle them to appear in person, or by a person acting on their behalf, before a Special Committee of Council to be held on Wednesday 7 April at 6:30pm. The meeting will be held at the Council Chamber, Boxshall Street, Brighton, or held remotely via electronic media, and will be livestreamed online at Council’s website:

Any person making a written submission under section 223 of the Act is advised that all submissions and personal information will be managed by Council in accordance with the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014.
