Bayside City Council at its meeting on 16 February 2021 commenced the statutory process pursuant to section 74(4) of the Local Government Act 1989 to determine the Councillor and Mayoral allowances for 2021 or until such time as the Remuneration Tribunal determines the allowances in accordance with the Local Government Act 2020.
Council adopted, in-principle, the following Councillor and Mayoral allowances:
Any person wishing to make a written submission pursuant to section 223 of the Local Government Act 1989 on the review of Councillor and Mayoral allowances must lodge a submission before 5:00pm on Wednesday 31 March 2021.

Submissions may also be addressed to the Governance Officer, Bayside City Council, PO Box 27, Sandringham VIC 3191 or delivered to Council's Corporate Centre, 76 Royal Avenue, Sandringham.
If a person wishes to be heard in support of their submission, they must clearly indicate so in their submission. This will entitle them to appear in person, or by a person acting on their behalf, before a Special Committee of Council to be held on Wednesday 14 April at 6:00pm in the Council Chamber, Boxshall Street, Brighton, or held remotely via electronic media, and live-streamed via Council's website:
The meeting will proceed if one or more persons request to be heard in support of their submission.
Any person making a written submission under section 223 of the Act is advised that all submissions and personal information will be managed by Council in accordance with the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014.
Subject to any changes resulting from consideration of community submissions, the proposed Councillor and Mayoral allowances will be adopted at the Ordinary Meeting of Council to be held on Tuesday 18 May 2021 at 6:30pm in the Council Chamber, Boxshall Street, Brighton.
