Revisiting Bayside Seniors Festival 2020

During October, Bayside City Council proudly presented the 17th year of the Bayside Seniors Festival. Due to COVID-19 restrictions this year’s festival will be came live to your living room with a program full of especially curated content.

We revisit the four headline talks from our key speakers, giving you another chance to enjoy some great entertainment from the comfort of your own home.

    Thriving in a COVID-19 world – Gerard Mansour, Commissioner for Senior Victorians

    Listen to Gerard Mansour, Commissioner for Senior Victorians and Ambassador for Elder Abuse Prevention as he reflects on how he has adapted his personal and professional journey through the COVID-19 pandemic. 

    He talks about the attributes of ageing well during COVID restrictions and shares insight into adapting and thriving in our changing world.  He speaks to three Bayside residents to chat about how they have responded to COVID-19 restrictions and what they are doing to keeping active, busy and connected in Bayside.

    The many faces of comedian Rod Quantock include a caring conservationist, larrikin Melbourne mystery bus tour guide, university architecture student, the red night-capped sock wearing Captain Snooze, a political activist, star of ABC-TVs Australia You’re Standing In It, pioneer of stand up comedy and OAM recipient.

    A morning coffee with award winning actor, John Wood

    Gold Logie Award-winning Australian actor and scriptwriter John Wood, best known for his roles as Magistrate Michael Rafferty in the legal drama Rafferty's Rules and as Senior Sergeant Tom Croydon in the long running police drama Blue Heelers will delight you as he shares some life stories including his involvement with the Save the HMVS Cerberus campaign.
