Dendy and New Street intersection upgrade

We’re upgrading the intersection of Dendy Street and New Street Brighton

Works will be delivered in stages over the April and July school term breaks.

There will be changes to traffic while we complete these works, please follow all signage in place including signed detours and drive to the conditions.

Thank you for your patience while we deliver these important upgrades.

Works involve installing new pedestrian refuge islands, minor footpath expansion, associated linemarking of bicycle lanes and pram ramps to improve accessibility and make it safer for pedestrians navigating this busy intersection.

The works will be staged to avoid busy traffic periods and minimise the impact on the local area where possible.

The first stage works will commence during the Easter school holidays for two weeks. Construction will occur between standard EPA allowed hours, Monday to Friday.

During the July 2022 school holiday break, the contractor will return to complete the remaining works for an additional two weeks, weather permitting. Further communication will be provided relating to the planned works in July 2022 when the delivery date approaches

There will be some disruption while we complete these works with detours and road closures during this period to enable works to be completed with the safety of the community in mind. Appropriate signage and traffic management will be in place to guide road users through and around the works safely
