Positive Parenting Series

These sessions are provided for families who are raising children and young people.

The content of the sessions aims to provide parents and carers with current information and strategies on topics such as kindergarten and school readiness, resilience, body safety, raising girls, raising boys and digital savvy families.

The sessions are presented by well regarded professionals in the sector, via ZOOM.

Sessions are free or ticketed at $12.00 where stated.

Breaking Down Gender Stereotyping and Why It's Important

This session is for parents, guardians and/or educators of children in early years and primary school.

Tuesday 22 February 2022, 7.30pm – 8.15pm

  • Consent and when to begin the conversation
  • The reasons why we need gender equality
  • What are the consequences of gender inequality?
  • The harmful effects of gender stereotyping on our children
  • Modelling gender equality is important 
  • Practical ideas to promote gender equality in your home and community

Kindergarten Readiness

Monday 7 March 2022, 7:00pm - 8:00pm

Melinda Vander Reest from Early Life Foundation presents an invaluable session about knowing when your child is ready to start kindergarten. Melinda provides an evidence-based session to help you make an informed decision. Registration required.
