What’s on this Spring?
We are changing things up these Spring school holidays and throwing open the doors to our Youth Hub, Peterson Youth Centre!
Peterson Youth Centre is Bayside City Council’s youth space where a lot of our programs take place, and our team want to invite you to come and hang out these school holidays and check out everything it has to offer.
Our school holiday events are free and open for any young person aged 12 – 17 years old, and who have a connection to Bayside (live,work,study,play).
School Holiday Activities
Tuesday 24 September 11am – 2pm
Time: Doors open from 11am
What to bring: Comfy clothes, drink bottle, snacks
Where: Peterson Youth Centre, Highett
Cost: Free
Planned activities:
- Nintendo games Extravaganza
- Mario Kart Racing, Mario Tennis and more
- Creative Station
- Painting and drawing, card making, fun Self Portraits
Lunch:
- Fish and Chips

Tuesday 1 October 11am - 2pm
Time: Doors open from 11am
What to bring: Comfy clothes and shoes, suitable sportswear, drink bottle, hat
Where: Peterson Youth Centre, Highett
Cost: Free
Planned Activities:
- Sports, sports, sports!
- Football and handball competition, outdoor soccer, giant outdoor lawn games
- Indoor round robin
- Table tennis – Around the World, pool table - ‘Knock ‘em down’ Kelly Pool, basketball arcade – 'King and Queen of the ring'
Lunch:
- Make your own pizza!

Bayside Youth Services is proudly supporting this special school holiday program, hosted by our friends at Headspace.
Are you looking for a fun and meaningful way for your teen to spend the school break? This free event is designed for ages 12 - 17 and offers a day full of movement and creativity to help feel their best.
Who: Ages 12 to 17
When: Thursday 3 October
Time: 10 am - 1 pm
Where: Peterson Youth Centre, Highett
Cost: Free
● Unleashing creativity through arts and crafts.
● Fun activities encouraging stretching and moving.
● Finding calming techniques for relaxation.
● Meeting new friends through games and activities.
● Enjoying a delicious and healthy meal on us!

Headspace Event Booking - Holiday Recharge Zone
FriYays pop up @ Sandy Library
Friday 4 October 3pm - 5pm
FriYays moves to Sandringham Library these Spring school holidays!
Join us and our friends from Sandringham Library for a fun FriYay pop up, Friday 4 October, 3pm – 5pm. Everyone is welcome, for ages 12 to 18.
Who: Ages 12 to 18
When: Friday 4 October
Time: 3pm – 5pm
Where: Sandringham Library, meeting room
We will have:
- VR headsets
- Nintendo Switch on the big screen
- Games
- Snacks
No need to book, just drop in and have fun!
FriYays will then return to Peterson Youth Centre, 3pm – 5.30pm every Friday during Term 3. Check out our FriYays page for more information.
