Skip bin permit terms and conditions

Your skip bin permit holder must adhere to these permit conditions when delivering their services within the Bayside municipality.

  1. All bins are to be clearly marked with bin company name and contact telephone number.
  2. All bins are to have yellow retroreflective tape on the corners of the bin or lights. These must illuminate between sunset and sunrise and be visible from 200m.
  3. Keep at least 1.2m width of the footpath open at all times.
  4. You must reinstate any and all damage to pavement, nature strip and services. Failing this, works will be undertaken by Bayside City Council at the permit holder's expense.
  5. Do not place bins on nature strips if any part of the bin is within the dripline of a nature strip tree.
  6. The permit fee must be paid.
  7. You must provide a completed indemnity and guarantee form.
  8. Ensure the bin or obstruction presents no danger to the public and adheres to the VicRoads Code of Practice for the Placement of Waste Bins on Roadsides, January 2001.
  9. Place the bin or obstruction lawfully.
  10. You must hold a current public liability insurance covering a minimum of $20 million.
  11. Ensure that the bin is secure at all times.
  12. Remove any litter or rubbish dumped in or around the waste or skip bin.
  13. Do not place bins on North Road from the commencement of North Road to the intersection with Nepean Highway.
  14. Bins placed at properties located on a main road within the Bayside municipality must be placed within the boundaries of the nature strip in front of that property without encroaching onto the footpath, or within the bicycle lane of that main road. Do not place a bin so it encroaches on a traffic lane of any main road.
