Pooch loving Bayside provide more than 1.8 million poo bags to residents and their four-legged family members in our off leash parks and reserves – that’s more than 156,000 per month!
With almost 11,000 registered doggie residents, Council’s commitment to keeping these parks and reserves smelling like daisies – not poo – converts to an almost $120,000 per year commitment for bag costs, dispensers and servicing.
The City has a total of 75 dispensers in 28 of its parks and reserves - each dispenser checked and refilled on a weekly basis.
Dendy Park has 11 dispensers dotted around its boundary and Elsternwick Park has 10 making them the busiest open air toilets for man’s best friend in the City.
