Hurlingham Park upgrade to proceed

25 June 2014

Facilities at Hurlingham Park on Nepean Highway, Brighton East, will undergo significant improvements following the adoption of a new master plan.

Mayor Laurence Evans said he welcomed Council’s decision to upgrade Hurlingham Park to make it more relevant to the needs of local residents and tenant community groups.  He also thanked park users and surrounding residents who contributed their feedback to the draft plan during the extensive community consultation program.

“Key changes to the park will include a new pavilion, increased connectivity for park users, improved drainage infrastructure, paths and playground equipment. Safety at the park will also be enhanced with the installation of path lighting,” Cr Evans said.

“Hurlingham Park is used on a daily basis by a wide variety of users and I feel there is something for everyone in this plan.”

Council will now proceed to explore the potential for securing grants from other funding bodies for the proposed improvements as outlined in the Master Plan.

A copy of the Hurlingham Park Master Plan is available on Council’s website at and at Council libraries.
