Bayside Gallery is a space for everybody to enjoy art. Our curated exhibition program gives residents and visitors the opportunity to engage with inspirational work from renowned Australian and International artists, as well as showcasing the incredible wealth of artists in the Bayside area.

We offer a program of art-related activities ranging from our popular ‘Great art detective’ for children, hands-on workshops, artist talks, ‘Connections: art and dementia’ program and visual thinking strategy classes for kindergartens and schools.

Bayside Gallery is closed to the public from Friday 22 December, 4 pm, reopening Wednesday 31 January, 11 am.

Bayside Gallery is otherwise open the following times:

Wednesday - Friday 11am - 5pm

Saturday & Sunday 1pm - 5pm

The Gallery is closed on all Victorian Public holidays and in between exhibitions. Please review our exhibition dates before visiting.

Protecting the health of our visitors is paramount and we have implemented a range of hygiene and physical distancing measures in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Victorian Government.

These include providing hand sanitisers at the entry point, and social distancing within the gallery space.

Located at Brighton Town Hall, Corner Carpenter and Wilson Streets, Brighton (entry on Wilson Street)

 

By car

All day on street parking is available and a public car park is adjacent to Bayside Gallery on Wilson Street.

 

By public transport

Both Middle Brighton and North Brighton train stations are a 10-minute walk away. There is also a bus stop located outside Brighton Town Hall on Wilson Street, just over 100m away from the gallery.

Accessibility

Disabled parking is available and access to the main entrance is at street level via a small inclined ramp. Wheelchair access is available throughout Bayside Gallery.

Cultural gifts program

Bayside Gallery is a participant in the Australian Government’s Cultural Gifts Program. This program encourages Australians to donate items of cultural significance from private collections to public art galleries, museums, libraries and archives.

The Cultural Gift Program is administered by the Ministry for the Arts in accordance with the gift provisions of the income tax law. For more information about the tax incentives you may be eligible for, please visit the Australian Government website.
