Resonance Music Series returns for 2015

27 February 2015

From 22 March to 6 December, the Resonance Music Series returns for 2015 with a new event partner, the Bayside Chamber Orchestra, plus a special concert presented by Melbourne Youth Music featuring members of the Percy Grainger Youth Orchestra.

These organisations join the Dame Nellie Melba Opera Trust, the Early Arts Guild of Victoria, and the Melbourne Composers’ League for an extensive program of early and contemporary music, and the art of historic dance and gesture.

“The Resonance Music Series is one of Council’s flagship arts and cultural programs,” said Bayside City Council Mayor Cr. Felicity Frederico.

“Now in its fifteenth year, the series provides an opportunity for our community to gather and connect over shared cultural experiences that help us create a stronger sense of identity, pride and place throughout Bayside.”

Program highlights include a special Christmas pageant presented by the Early Arts Guild of Victoria and a one-off concert featuring a string quartet hand-picked from the 70-piece Percy Grainger Youth Orchestra.

This one-off concert will coincide with the exhibition Percy Grainger: In the Company of Strangers, running 20 June to 9 August at The Gallery @ Bayside Arts & Cultural Centre.

Resonance Music Series concerts will be performed in churches across Bayside and the Bayside Arts & Cultural Centre in Brighton.
