Digital stories
The Youth Documentary Project also includes the making of digital stories. These are first person narratives, which are personal, reflective and provide an insight into the young person’s world. The following were involved in the digital story project:
- Young people at Bayley House, Brighton East
- Young people living at Elsternwick Housing Estate, Brighton
In addition to this, a volunteer program was also developed in May 2009 to suppoer the creation of digital stories at Berendale School. Six volunteers were trained over a four-week intensive and they are now working twice weekly in the classroom to assist students to create their own stories. This is now an ongoing program at Berendale.
