One of Bayside's major attractions is Brighton's bathing boxes. They have been used, admired, coveted and bought and sold for over 100 years.

The Brighton bathing boxes are a unique attraction. They are now a Bayside and Melbourne 'icon' due to their colourful and homogenous structure, which reflect a bygone era of 19th Century English bathing and leisure customs that called for changing facilities and storage of beach accessories.

Bathing box licensees form the Brighton Bathing Box Association Inc. Members seek to preserve and promote local heritage and culture.
