Bayside Literary Festival overview

We invite you to enjoy a myriad of events showcasing the ways text tells a story including a radio play, a mock trial, novels, poems, books, a guided walk, a theatre play and author talks.
 
Literary adventures include:

  • Globetrotting stories with authors Patrick O'Neil, Jane Clifton and Karen Manwaring 
  • Architectural and social history stories with Jenny Davies
  • Incredible tales from outer space with Dr Martin Plowman (PhD in Ufology)
  • Jailbird tales with Keith Bulfin - a former inmate in a high security prison
  • Bikies, Beer, Blokes and Books; stories inside the outlaw motorcycle clubs
  • Indigenous stories with author Bruce Pascoe
  • Poems and stories from Bayside poetry and writing groups
  • 15 minutes of fame with 4 local authors
  • Book trivia
  • Stories about where fiction gets crime wrong
  • Artistic and illustrated stories 

Bayside Writing Competition

All stories and poems have been received and are currently being shortlisted and judged.

Winning authors and poets will be contacted and awarded their prizes on Opening Night.

The winning stories and poems will be published on the Bayside Writing Competition site after Monday 23 May.
