Bayside Carers Corner

All unpaid carers who live in the City of Bayside are welcome to join us at Bayside Carers Corner.

Come along to hear our interesting guest speakers, enjoy a cuppa and meet others with similar experiences.

Sessions are held fortnightly from 10:00 – 11:30 am at Peterson Youth Centre, corner Peterson St and Highett Rd, Highett unless otherwise stated.

Time for a break – let’s celebrate!

We will be celebrating National Carers Week (13 - 19 Oct) by encouraging carers to take a break at Palace Dendy Brighton on Monday 14 October. Those who provide unpaid care in Bayside are invited to join us for a free movie screening (movie confirmed mid-September) followed by a light lunch.

Respite care and transport may be available to eligible residents. Bookings are essential.

You will be taught to slow down and connect in a safe supported space. The simple and effective techniques of mindfulness meditation are accessible to anyone of any age and can help to understand habits and patterns of the mind.

“Wildlife viewing. Discover what’s in your backyard” - Gould League Ricketts Point Sanctuary

Learn about what we can find in the Bay, how to access it year-round and the healing benefits of the beach that allows one to recharge their batteries. Ricketts Point is a great place to take people you care for so they too can feel the many healing and nurturing benefits of mother nature.

Join us for a FREE BBQ lunch at Peterson Youth Centre to celebrate the end of the year. Fun activities, entertainment and a great chance to catch up with other carers in Bayside.
