Report illegal construction works relating to a planning permit

Planning Permit violations do occur and Council has the legal right to inspect and enforce compliance.  The community is encouraged to report serious concerns to us immediately so we can act quickly before too much further work is carried out.

Please note that if a development is found to be in breach of the planning permit, Council will first seek voluntary compliance. If this doesn’t occur it may lead to fines, enforcement at VCAT, or prosecution through the Magistrates’ Court.
