Proposal for Bayside to provide aged care services for Glen Eira

Bayside City Council would provide aged care services to residents of the City of Glen Eira under a proposal announced today.

Glen Eira City Council is proposing to sub-contract Bayside to deliver aged and disability support to the Glen Eira community to allow their residents to continue to age at home.

Bayside Mayor, Councillor Fiona Stitfold said the proposal reflects Bayside’s strong commitment to continuing to provide aged care services under the Australian Government’s future aged care reforms.

“Bayside is an ageing community and Council’s aged care services are supporting our older residents to remain living safely and independently at home,” she said.

“Under Glen Eira City Council’s proposal we would offer our highly regarded, quality community-based aged care services to residents in our neighbouring municipality. Bayside is proud of our services and we are delighted to be in a position where we can assist Glen Eira residents."

Glen Eira City Council is undertaking engagement with their staff and residents to seek feedback on the proposal.

There will be no impact to Bayside clients. Clients will continue to receive quality aged care services at the current level. The Glen Eira City Council proposal includes services operating from a site in Glen Eira.
