Repairing storm damage at Half Moon Bay

Half Moon Bay beach has been affected by erosion and the beach access ramp has been damaged during recent wild weather.

Ramp repairs

We’re undertaking emergency works from Thursday, 17 November for one week, weather permitting, to ensure the beach access ramp is fit for use during the peak summer period.

The beach access ramp will remain closed during these necessary repairs.

Beach goers can access the foreshore at low tide via the adjacent ramp or at high tide residents can use the path alongside Half Moon Bay beach and from Love Street car park.

Once these works are complete the ramp will be reopened.

Coastal erosion

A temporary fence has been placed along a section of the beach which has been badly affected by erosion.

We are working through long-term plans to stabilise and manage the area, with works due to commence early next year after the busy summer period.

Access within in the fenced area is restricted until works are completed to protect your safety and the natural environment.
