Smart parking for Sandy

Finding an available car parking space in the Sandringham Village will soon be easier.

In 2022, we engaged the community about new ideas for Sandringham Village. Availability of parking was identified as a concern for local shoppers and traders. As a result, we’re installing the new parking technology. The sensors and digital signage will optimise the use of the underground car park located at 122 Beach Road Sandringham, by displaying real-time parking availability for the 36-spaces at the driveway entrance.

On Monday, 26 February, we’re installing the electronic sensors in the car park. From 6am for up to six hours, the car park will be closed while we undertake works. We anticipate minimal noise while the sensors are installed, and the early morning works are scheduled to minimise disruption.

We anticipate installing the new digital sign the week commencing 18 March, weather permitting. Works will take up to five hours and the underground car park will remain open. There will be limited access to the footpath while the sign is installed, and traffic management will be onsite to assist pedestrians and path users around area.
