    Together, we can stop elder abuse

    On 15 June, World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, we’re reminded that everyone has the right to feel safe at home. We all want the ability to make our own choices in life and have them accepted. This doesn’t change as we get older. Everybody can contribute to a world where people are respected, supported, and empowered to live the way they choose regardless of age.

    World Environment Day 2024

    This year’s World Environment Day emphasises restoration and we are doing our part by planting more than 1,400 trees a year to improve Bayside’s urban environment.

    Lights on for dogs this winter

    Once again, we’re expanding the times where Baysider’s can exercise their dogs on sports grounds more safely at night. The winter lighting program aims to provide Bayside dogs and their owners with dedicated access to two popular dog off-leash sportsgrounds one evening a week while the grounds are not being used for sport.

    A new public art sculpture has been unveiled at Landcox Park in Brighton East.

    Surface maintenance at R J Sillitoe Reserve

    We’re closing the southern soccer pitch of R J Sillitoe Reserve from Monday, 27 May 2024 for the winter sports season. Community access to the remainder of the reserve is via Lawson Street. The partial, temporary closure provides the opportunity to maintain the oval condition for the winter season, resulting in a safer, more enjoyable user experience.

    Ellen José Student Reconciliation Awards - winners and finalists 2024

    The Ellen José Student Reconciliation Awards are aimed at Bayside primary and secondary school students, bringing awareness of reconciliation to our young people, who are the future of Australia, through art and writing. Entrants are asked to interpret "As a young person, what does reconciliation mean to you?" in their artwork or writing piece.
