National Reconciliation Week – May 27 to June 3 - is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.

Sadly, we will shortly remove and replace a very large, aged and weather-damaged Cyprus tree on the front lawns of Billilla. The removal is on the advice of multiple expert arborists.

Join renowned landscape painter Graeme Altmann at the Billilla Outdoor Arts Lab from 13 to 26 May. This initiative offers artists a unique opportunity to explore their creativity in the picturesque setting of Billilla Gardens.

Bayside has contributed to Greater Melbourne finishing 17th in the worldwide City Nature Challenge 2024.

The impact of planning changes proposed in the Suburban Rail Loop (SRL) Precinct Key Directions will be felt across Bayside, particularly in the communities of Highett, Hampton East, Cheltenham and Pennydale. Excessive height limits, increased traffic congestion and a squeeze on open space and community infrastructure are just some of the initial impacts identified by Bayside City Council.

We’re installing a creative new landmark in the heart of Sandringham Village. The 2.5m wayfinding “Welcome Mosaic” will greet commuters in front of the Sandringham train station and is created in the traditional smaller tesserae style (a mosaic style where small pieces of stone, glass, ceramic, or other hard material are cut into regular shapes and pieced together to create an image). Created by local artist Fabian Scaunich and supported by the Sandy Street Art Project and Sandringham Traders Association, the installation reflects a colourful, artistic map of Sandringham Village and the local foreshore.
