Changes to COVID-19 requirements for visitors
Thanks to the efforts of all Victorians and our strong vaccination rates, COVID-19 restrictions have eased further.
Wearing a face mask is no longer mandatory for visitors to Council facilities.
This includes our libraries, customer service counter in Sandringham, Gallery and maternal and child health centres. You are welcome to continue to wear a mask if you wish to and carry one in case you cannot remain 1.5m apart from other visitors or staff.

Council’s mandatory vaccination policy continues to apply to all visitors aged 18+. You must be fully vaccinated to visit a Council building and show proof of your vaccination. To see the accepted forms of vaccination proof, visit the Department of Health website here https://www.coronavirus.vic.gov.au/get-your-covid-19-vaccine-certificate
Please do not visit Council facilities if you are unwell or have tested positive for COVID-19.
Vaccinations
Beaumaris, Black Rock and Sandringham are leading the way in Bayside on the uptake of third doses of COVID-19 vaccinations. In children 5-11 years Brighton East is leading the way with 60-65% having their first jab, with the rest of our municipality hot on their heels at 55-60%.
There are many appointments for vaccinations in and close to Bayside including for boosters and children aged 5-11 years. Find out more about vaccinations here https://www.coronavirus.vic.gov.au/vaccine
If you are unvaccinated
Unvaccinated residents can continue to access Council’s services via online, telephone or in certain circumstances, by appointment including:
- Customer service – online via our website or via telephone on 9599 4444 including rates payments
- Library services – online via the eLibrary, Click and Collect and Home Library Service
- Bayside Gallery – online via our website
Remember the COVID-19 basics
It’s up to all of us to be COVIDSafe.
This includes staying 1.5m away from others where possible, practicing good hand hygiene, staying home if you feel unwell and getting tested if you have any symptoms.
