In 2019 the green waste service in Bayside was expanded to include food waste and become the food and green waste service. From Monday 4 July 2022 this bin (light-green lid) will be collected weekly and the household rubbish bin will be collected fortnightly.
83% of residents now use this service and are recycling their food scraps in the food and green waste bin, creating a high-quality compost for local farmers and reducing the amount of waste ending up in landfill.
