"Bright Objects" on the path to publication with Ruby Todd

Join us at Sandringham library for a writing workshop with Ruby Todd, author of "Bright Objects" (Allen and Unwin, 30 April 2024), a luminous, masterfully crafted literary thriller. A copy of "Bright Objects" and afternoon tea is included in the ticket price.

Ruby has a PhD in writing and literature and was the recipient of the 2019 Ploughshares Emerging Writer's Contest award for Fiction and the inaugural 2020 Furphy Literary Award, among others. Her work has appeared in Ploughshares, Crazyhorse, Overland and elsewhere. Shortlisted for the 2023 Victorian Premier's Unpublished Manuscript Award, Ruby will share lessons from the path to publication of "Bright Objects", a novel about the search for meaning in a bewildering world, the loyalty of love and the dangerous lengths people go to in pursuit of the truth.

'A literary mystery of consummate elegance and gravity. Bright Objects traces a graceful orbit around the phenomena of human grief and love.' Jessica Au, author of Cold Enough for Snow

Ruby's many years of teaching experience will make this workshop invaluable for all aspiring writers, as well as published authors who are interested in improving their craft.
