Mentors for neurodiverse/additional needs youth

Advantage Scouts is an alternative scouting group for youth that find our regular scout group too overwhelming or need additional social support to work in a group.

Advantage Scouts do everything our regular scouts do including outdoor, community, personal development and creative activities. We aim to help the youth make meaningful friendships to help with connection, confidence and general mental health.

Training is compulsory for mentors and provided at no cost with a combination of online and face to face requirements. Uniform is provided, expenses reimbursed.

Self-development opportunity

Being a scout leader is a tremendous way to self-develop and access a whole world of opportunity. You will learn and teach many new skills from how to tie an alpine butterfly knot to event management and risk assessment. You can choose the direction of your advanced training whilst being supported by a great team of leaders.

This is an excellent position to make a difference and learn how to support youth and you will become their hero at the same time.

All sorts of people make great scout leaders the main attributes we look for is patient, fun loving and organized people who walk in with a smile and a positive attitude.
