Social Support Program Volunteers - Black Rock Activity Centre

Council’s Social Support Program offers older residents the opportunity to come together for a social day out, full of activities and a nutritious meal. A staffed transport service is offered to bring clients to the Black Rock Activity Centre for an array of activities including arts and crafts, live entertainment, guest speakers and of course, the occasional game of bingo! Bus outings are also offered including full and half day sightseeing and luncheon bus outings.

Volunteers assist with activities within the centre and bus outings across Melbourne, on a weekly or fortnightly basis for approximately 4 or 6 hours per session. Volunteers are encouraged to use any unique skills or talents as part of the day’s activities, such as playing a musical instrument; as well as assisting the participation of residents within the activities. Lunch is provided each session and volunteers are provided with training as required.

If you have a few hours to spare and would like to support the participation of isolated older people in the community, then come and join us!
