Bringing festive cheer to our shopping strips with Shops on Show
Registrations for Shops on Show 2023 are now closed.
You can now vote for your favourite festive shop window in our Facebook Christmas Shops on Show competition to be in the running to win one of ten fabulous Christmas hampers.
Christmas is just around the corner and it's time to get into the festive spirit by decorating your shop window with Christmas cheer and take part in this year's Shops on Show competition.
Your customers will love seeing local shops in Bayside decorated and children delight at the Christmas baubles and trinkets sparkling in their favourite shop windows. This year there is a prize pool of $5,000 that one of your customers could be in the running to win!
How to register your shop
It's easy to enter, simply register your details below and we will arrange for a photographer to take a professional photo of your decorated shop window. This photo will be posted on Council's Facebook and Instagram pages, advertising your business to up to 50,000 Baysiders.
Marketing
We will run an extensive marketing campaign promoting the Shops on Show competition to the community inviting you, your customers and neighbours to vote for their favourite shop window. The shop with the most Likes on our Shops on Show Facebook gallery will win.
Also, this year every registered shop will receive a Shops on Show window sticker with a QR code that your customers and locals shopping can scan their phone over and submit their vote.
All registered shops will also be included in a promotional reel screened at the Bayside Christmas Carols, attended by around 20,000 revellers.

The competition is open to ALL Bayside shops that decorate their windows with the one receiving the MOST Likes from the public being deemed the 2023 Grand SoS Winner. Categories are as follows:
- Best Shop Window on Martin Street, Brighton
- Best Shop Window on Bay Street, Brighton
- Best Shop Window on Dendy Village, Brighton
- Best Shop Window on Hampton Street
- Best Shop Window on Sandringham Village
- Best Shop Window on Highett Road
- Best Shop Window on Black Rock Village
- Best Shop Window on Seaview
- Best Shop Window on Beaumaris Concourse
- Best Shops on Show Grand Winner 2023
Winning shop prizes
All Winning shops from the above categories will receive:
- A $200 social media advertising campaign for their business, running from 18 – 24 December 2023 promoting their business on our socials, the best Christmas winning shop in their strip, including a description of the business and website/social media links.
- 'Winner - Best Shop Window' decal/sticker sashes
- Coverage in the following Council platforms:
- 'This week in Bayside' newsletter
The SoS Grand Winner will receive a $500 social media advertising campaign for their business on council's socials, running from 18 - 24 December 2023 promoting the business as the best Christmas shop window in Bayside, including a description of the business and website/social media links.
Timeline:
- Shop registrations - Open now and closes Tuesday 5 December (12 noon)
- Registered shop photos will be taken – on 6 and 7 December (evenings, leave your lights on)
- Public voting commences – Saturday 9 December and closes Sunday 17 December
- All winners notified – Monday, 18 December
