Robyn Hayes

Robyn Hayes

Robyn painted her first painting age 13. From that very early age, nature has captivated her and she had aspirations of being an artist. Her neighbour was an oil painter and he inspired and taught the basics. His studio was heated with a pot belly stove and he smoked a pipe.  To this day the smell of linseed oil and sweet tobacco is intoxicating.

Robyn was born into a creative extended family of artists and musicians and her mother was an award-winning landscape painter. Robyn credits her mother as her inspiration!

Robyn loves the beautiful shapes and textures and uncovering natural vibrant colours. She has never been a ‘Off the rack kinda girl” and from a young age made her own unique clothes from recycled tapestries and garments.

In the last 3 years she has returned to her love of painting and started to explore different styles on canvas, finally calling herself an artist!

“My tools are a combination of driftwood and found objects. I love to use my hands to cover my canvas creating different marks and textures.

This freedom of letting go of any control uncovers a magical experience into finding a new adventure.   ‘This is my metaphor for my life’
