When choosing a suitable sportsground for your school sports, please consider the following:

Suitability of the sportsground
It is important you check the available facilities, dates and times of the sportsground before applying. It is important to note:
- We will not provide access to sports pavilions, please ensure that you check the toilets availability at each venue are suitable before requesting use of a sportsground.
- Sportsgrounds can only be used for the purpose listed.
- The grounds highlighted in bold are turf wicket sportsgrounds and will have the centre wicket isolated at all times. The fencing is not to be removed at any time and schools are advised that these grounds are only suitable for modified sports, not full ground access.

Every term we compile a list of available sportsgrounds for use, as available below.
Grounds that have been assessed as "closed, restricted or minimal use only" will be allocated in accordance with the sportsground allocation policy. These changes may be due to capital works programs or the safety and condition of the ground.
Booking details:
- Fees are applied on a basis of per ground, per term and are not negotiable.
- Grounds marked with an asterisk * are turf wicket sportsgrounds and will have the centre wicket isolated for matches. The fencing is not to be removed at any time and schools are advised that these grounds are only suitable for modified sports and will not have full ground access at these times.
- Casual booking requests must be received no less than 10 working days prior to the first booking date required.
- Council reserves the right to change any allocation due to ground conditions, risk assessment and possible safety issues – where possible Council will offer an alternate sportsground.
- Applications are requests only until you receive written confirmation from a Council Officer.
- School use will be monitored – bookings that are not being utilised will be cancelled and use outside of the agreed dates and times may result in other bookings being cancelled.
- Cross Country Track bookings (Elsternwick or Dendy Park) are for track only. If school would like to utilise grounds within precinct, please ensure you book separately.

School bookings: Terms and conditions
Public Liability
Ground allocation will not be approved unless a copy of the Public Liability Insurance Certificate of Currency (minimum $20 million) is provided with this application.
Toilet availability
Bayside City Council does not provide access to sports pavilions. Please ensure that you check the toilets availability at each venue are suitable before requesting use of a sportsground.
Equipment and infrastructure
Schools are not to make any alterations to the Council facility, including line marking playing surfaces, without prior written consent from Council. Hirers must not erect temporary structures (such as marquees, volleyball nets, goal post etc.) or insert any items into the sportsground (such as pegs), without prior written consent from Council.
Cricket wickets
Grounds marked with an asterisk * are turf wicket sportsgrounds and will have the centre wicket isolated for matches. The fencing is not to be removed at any time and schools are advised that these grounds are only suitable for modified sports and will not have full ground access at these times.
COVID-19
It is the responsibility of the hirer to ensure that any current State Government restrictions are adhered to and that a COVID Safe plan is in place. If you are required to cancel any bookings due to State Government restrictions, you will receive a full refund of any money paid towards a ground that has not yet been used.
As fees are applied per oval, per term any use of the oval before cancellations made mean no refunds can be issued.
Ground condition
If the sportsground becomes too degraded due to weather or over-use and is deemed to pose a safety issue, Council reserves the right to cancel bookings. In this instance we will endeavour to relocate you to another sports field.
Times of use
Sportsgrounds are not available for use outside of the hours listed above. Schools requesting after hours usage of a sportsground will be subject to additional charges if the request is approved.
Details of each sportsgrounds’ final date of use are listed above. Some grounds will be available later than others depending on seasonal change over requirements.
