Habitat Gardening with AB Bishop

Horticulturalist, writer and conservationist, AB Bishop, will give hints, tips and tricks on how to create the ideal environment to attract local wildlife, even in small spaces.

During this presentation participants will learn about local plants and how they can be incorporated into the garden, and what local wildlife they will potentially encourage.

A selection of plants as well as other garden habitat elements (rocks, logs, hydration stations) will be used to demonstrate how simple habitat gardening can be.

This event is part of Bayside’s Gardens for Wildlife program. In cities and suburban areas, native habitat provides an important sanctuary for native animals, particularly when habitat in surrounding areas is damaged or lost.

Pockets of habitat provide important refuges for wildlife. This event aims to create awareness of habitat gardening and encourage all residents to participate.

Gardens for Wildlife is a joint initiative between community, Council and Bayside Community Nursery.

We acknowledge the assistance of Gardens for Wildlife Victoria and founding program Knox Gardens for Wildlife.
