iNaturalist workshop with Luis Mata

April is Global Citizen Science Month, designed to encourage everyone, everywhere to participate in Citizen Science and accelerate scientific research, discoveries and local actions.

To celebrate Citizen Science month we are offering a free iNaturalist workshop presented by the ecologist, entomolgist and Bayside resident, Luis Mata. Luis will demonstrate how to take photos and/or sound recordings of local animals and plants for best use in the iNaturalist app.

It is recommended that you prepare for this workshop by downloading the iNaturalist app and familiarise yourself by viewing this short instructional iNaturalist video:

With the skills gained in this workshop you can visit some of Bayside's unique foreshore and heathland and parkland reserves, learn about our unique biodiversity and contribute to their maintenance and care for generations to come.

You may also wish to participate in the City Nature Challenge running from Friday 26 April to Monday 29 April, encouraging people to investigate their local environment.  Help represent Greater Melbourne, along with over 25 other metropolitan councils, competing on a global scale.
