Advocacy success on Highett and Wickham Road level crossings

We welcome the Victorian Government’s announcement on the removal of the level crossings.

The removal of these crossings is one of Bayside’s top priorities for the upcoming Victorian election.

We encourage active community consultation on the design of the new Highett station and rail passage and will be advocating for strong outcomes for our community.

Find our more on our advocacy priorities including:

  • funding for Yalukit Willam Nature Reserve
  • funding for gender neutral sports pavilions
  • funding for a warm water pool
  • funding for local connections to the Dingley Recycled Water Scheme Pipeline
  • better bus services, particularly in Beaumaris and Black Rock
  • strong outcomes from the Suburban Rail Loop
  • the establishment of a Minister for the Bay to better coordinate and protect our precious coastline.

And a range of other priority issues for our community based on our Bayside 2050 Community Vision and 2021-25 Council Plan.
