Congratulations to our new Member for Goldstein
Congratulations to Zoe Daniel, the newly elected Member for Goldstein.
Bayside Mayor, Cr Alex del Porto warmly congratulated Ms Daniel on her election.
“I look forward to working with Ms Daniel as our community’s representative in the Australian Parliament.
I hope to work together to advocate for Bayside on issues of importance to our community that Council cannot deliver alone," he said.
Bayside’s advocacy priorities are based on long term community aspirations articulated in the Bayside 2050 Community Vision and the responding actions in the Council Plan 2021-25. These strategic plans are based on strong community engagement and feedback on what kind of Bayside we want in the future.
Advocacy to other levels of government is a key role for Council and we have actively pursued a strong advocacy campaign up to, and during the federal election campaign, on behalf of our community”, Cr del Porto said.
“We will now work to realise the $11.7million pledge made in the election campaign by the incoming Australian Government for Elsternwick Park Nature Reserve and Elster Creek.”
