Have your say on our warm water pool designs

An affordable public warm water pool in Bayside will help improve quality of life for many residents, particularly our ageing population and residents with a disability or health condition.

We have worked with experts and advocates to develop the concept designs for this new community facility, which was supported by 80 per cent of residents in the first phase of community consultation.

The proposed warm water pool facility will cost around $25 million and include:

  • Two warm water pools for flexible community use and programming, including aquatic therapy, relaxation and children’s swim lessons
  • Allied health services
  • Accessible design and changerooms for people with high or complex needs
  • Kiosk for refreshments
  • Pro Shop for the golf course.

Over 500 new trees would be planted to offset the removal of some vegetation and the facility will also use innovative energy management techniques.

This project could also offer additional benefits for golfers, with careful realignment of the existing golf course to remain par 67, a new indoor specialist golf training and coaching facility, and other improvements across the whole course.

There is also a proposal for a wellness centre next to the warm water pool, incorporating hot springs, a spa and sauna, and a café. This is a separate project to be funded and operated by BlueFit, the company that leases the golf course.
